Directions to the Sailing Basin at the Future Home of the National Sailing Hall of Fame in Annapolis City Dock, Maryland
The National Sailing Hall of Fame's permanent facility will be built on the Southeast side of the City Dock in Annapolis, Maryland. We are already holding in-water events like Team Racing demonstrations at the Sailing Basin directly adjacent to the site. It is approximately 40 miles from Baltimore or Washington. The nearest major airport is Baltimore-Washington International (BWI). Limo service is available between downtown Annapolis and BWI and Reagan National (Washington—DCA) Airports (Airport Sedan 410-760-3227). Driving Directions
From the west (Washington, D.C), take Route 50 eastbound from the Washington Beltway (I-95/495) to Exit 24, Annapolis/Rowe Blvd.
From the east (Maryland Eastern Shore via the Bay Bridge), take Route 50 westbound to Exit 24, Annapolis/Rowe Blvd; be sure to stay off to the right at the exit and do not go onto Bestgate Road. From the north (Baltimore), take I-97 to Route 50 eastbound just west of exit 24. Once you exit Route 50, take Rowe Blvd. - Take Rowe Blvd until it forks, and bear right onto Northwest Street and follow it through one stoplight until it ends at Church Circle. Take a right onto Church Circle and stay in the outer part of the circle.
- Exit right onto Duke of Gloucester St. (at light between Maryland National Bank and Maryland Inn). Take Duke of Gloucester Street. Turn left on Green Street. Turn right on Market Circle.
- Exit right onto Randall Street between Market House and Ego Alley. Take next right onto Dock Street into parking area and proceed to the end of City Dock.
- The National Sailing Hall of Fame is located just north of Susan B. Campbell Park and south of the U.S. Naval Academy.

From Can “1” proceed Southwest and keep the yellow Special Purpose Daymark, an abandoned structural platform (the “Spider”), and the nearby Red Daymark to Starboard. Then proceed towards the US Naval Academy green dome keeping Horn Point Shoal (Green and White Diamond Daymark “HP”) to Port. The easy entrance to Spa Creek entrance is to Port. There are numerous City Moorings in the harbor as well as several commercial marinas and “City Dock”, the City of Annapolis’ marina right in the heart of Annapolis. Harbor Master for moorings, 410-263-7973, VHF Channels 9 or 17. Water taxi service is frequent and reliable; 410-263-0033 or VHF Channel 68. The Hall of Fame is right in the City Dock area. From the South (for boats w. 10’ or less draft): Proceed North past Thomas Point keeping Thomas Point Lighthouse and its associated Can Buoy to Port. Then proceed NNW keeping Tolley Point Green Daymark to Port. From Tolley Point head for the 3 large Red & White radio towers on Greenbury Point keeping the Yellow Special Purpose Daymark, the abandoned structural platform (the “Spider”), and the nearby Red Daymark to Starboard. From there head for the US Naval Academy Green Dome keeping Horn Point Shoal (Green& White Diamond Daymark “HP”) to Port. The easy entrance to Spa Creek is to Port.
