Much has been written about the beauty of sailboats and the excitement of sailing, yet words often pale in comparison to a photograph taken by a camera in the hands of a true professional.

ONNE VAN DER WAL
Renowned and award winning nautical photographer, Onne van der Wal (pronounced "Onn-A") has been shooting yachting photography for over 25 years. Once a professional sailor, Onne got his start in photography while sailing as bowman and engineer with the 1981-82 Dutch Whitbread Around the World Race Team on the winning boat, FLYER. When Onne returned from their circumnavigation, the press was eager to publish the many photos he had shot and he hasn't stopped shooting since.
Onne has his studio and a retail gallery on Bannister's Wharf in downtown Newport, RI. From this location, Onne's gallery sells favorite images to tourists, galleries and interior designers while Onne and his staff crank out assignment and stock photography to a huge client list from the studio office upstairs. DANIEL FORSTER
For the last several decades, Daniel Forster has covered every major sailing event in the United States and around the world. He's covered nine America's Cups and ten Olympic Games. He also worked with "Illbruck Challenge" in the 2001/2002 Volvo Ocean Race to document their global circumnavigation.
He is also one of the official photographers in charge of the Rolex Yachting events.
More than just a sailing photographer, Forster is a veteran sailor as well. He crewed onboard UBS Switzerland for the Uruguay to England leg of the 1986 Whitbread (now Volvo) Ocean Race, among others.
Forster still finds time to enjoy the sport, including rounding Cape Horn in 2004.
