2002 US Rolex Yachtswoman of the Year, Liz is an accomplished San Francisco Bay sailor, competing on the Bay and around the world match racing (Women’s World Champion, 2002), fleet racing around buoys on the bay either as skipper or tactician, and with more than 10 Pacific crossings from San Francisco and Los Angeles (Division winner on Antrim 27 in Pacific Cup; navigator and crew boss on Santa Cruise 50 in TransPac and Pacific Cup) under her belt.

- Liz was primarily responsible for promoting the selection of Women’s Match Racing as the most popular sailing event of the 2012 Olympics.
- As ISAF and World Sailing chair of match racing for the last 8 years, Liz has been involved in rule review and adoption for match racing, selection of championship venues and serving as ISAF/World Sailing technical delegate at world championship events.
- Liz is a current delegate to U.S. Sailing.
- Liz was an umpire for the 2013 America’s Cup in San Francisco.
- Both prior to the 2012 Olympics and through 2019, Liz has taught match racing clinics around the world.
- Liz runs most of the WIMRA events in their international locations, five or six events annually. She also taught match racing to blind sailors racing on a course which utilized sonic buoys.
- Liz is a member of the San Francisco Yacht Club, Richmond (Ca) Yacht Club, Cruising Club of America and honorary member of Long Beach and Sheboygan yacht clubs.
