In 2011 the second 9th grade STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) PBL (Problem Based Learning) module introducing the physics of sailing and navigation was taught at South River High School in Edgewater, MD to 120+ students.

Two AACPS STEM Sailing Summer Bridge camps were taught by NSHOF staff, one for novice sailors and the other for those with some sailing experience.
