Gordon Bowers, a 2008 Inland Lake Yachting Association Hall of Fame inductee, is a champion in many different classes, from E Scows to the Finn to DN iceboats. His experience in such a wide variety of boats has enabled him to successfully coach at all levels, including as Head Coach for the US Olympic Team, the PanAm Games, and the Goodwill Games. Asked in 2019 to estimate how many young sailors he has coached, Bowers said, “Hundreds. Maybe thousands?”
