HALL OF FAME

HOME TO AMERICAN SAILING LEGENDS

Welcome to the National Sailing Hall of Fame

Sailing in America has been shaped by generations of individuals who have demonstrated the courage and conviction to plot their own courses, defy convention and redefine excellence. Ours is a sport that has evolved because of these unique individuals and their contributions. This year’s induction class is a shining example. Their stories span well over 200 years and their varied backgrounds and talents culminate in excellence. While their methods and perspectives may differ, they are all motivated by a shared passion for harnessing wind and water, and inspired by the magic that happens when the two intersect. The achievements of this years’ inductees, on and off the water, have contributed to the culture and experience that is sailing in America. Our sport, the sport of a lifetime, is unique because of them.

The Class of 2023 was formally celebrated November 3-4, 2023, during an Induction Ceremony and Dinner in Newport Beach, California. The Induction Weekend has become notable as a reunion of sailing’s Who’s Who as previous inductees join the celebrations to welcome their peers into the Hall of Fame.  As they took the podium to accept their honors, each of the inductees expressed their gratitude, thanked those who inspired and supported them throughout their careers, recognized the achievements of those who came before them and illustrated what it means to be part of the great sport of sailing.
